We're excited to introduce Stirling-PDF's new Redaction Tool in version 0.37.0, bringing powerful capabilities for protecting sensitive information in your PDF documents.

What Does the Redaction Tool Offer?

The Redaction Tool in Stirling-PDF allows users to conceal sensitive information in their PDF documents, This works by placing 'boxes' over the content to represent it being 'blacked out'
Stirling-PDF offers this functionality via three methods:

1. Text Selection Redaction

Easily redact specific words, sentences, or entire paragraphs with pinpoint accuracy by selecting the text within the UI. This method is ideal for scenarios like removing names, addresses, or confidential clauses.

2. Area Drawing Redaction

Redact custom areas of a document by drawing rectangles. This is perfect for covering sensitive images, tables, or irregular blocks of content.

3. Page Redaction

Redact entire pages quickly and effectively when you need to remove large amounts of sensitive content in bulk.

Looking for something more automated?

Stirling-PDF already offers powerful automated redaction with our existing 'auto redaction' feature. You can either:

• Search and redact whole words across your document
• Use advanced pattern matching with Regular Expressions (Regex) to automatically identify and redact specific data patterns
